The Core Values of Daz & Company

Every company has values on a wall somewhere. The question is whether anyone can tell you what they mean by Thursday afternoon.

At Daz & Company, our foundation is resilience, commitment, and grit. We picked three because three is a number people can actually remember, and because these particular three describe what the work genuinely requires. Here is what each one looks like when it is not on a wall.

Resilience

Sales is a profession built on hearing no.

That sounds discouraging until you reframe it. Every no is information. It tells you something about the pitch, the timing, the audience, or the approach. Resilience is not about pretending the no did not sting. It is about being able to take the information, adjust, and walk into the next conversation without carrying the last one on your face.

We coach this deliberately. New team members spend their first weeks learning that a rough morning is a data point, not a verdict. The people who internalize that early tend to move faster than the people who are naturally gifted but take rejection personally.

Resilience also matters at the company level. Markets shift, client priorities change, and campaigns that worked last quarter need rethinking. A team that can absorb change without losing momentum is worth more than a team that only performs under ideal conditions.

Commitment

Commitment is the least glamorous of the three and probably the most important.

It means doing what you said you would do, at the standard you said you would do it, on the day you said you would do it. It means not taking the shortcut when the shortcut would probably go unnoticed. It means finishing the shift properly rather than mentally clocking out at hour six.

For our clients, commitment is the entire product. They are trusting us to represent their brand in front of real customers. That representation either reflects well on them or it does not, and there is no version where cutting corners in the field stays contained.

For our team, commitment is what makes the culture work. People invest in each other when they trust that the investment will be matched.

Grit

Grit is what carries you through the middle.

The beginning of something is exciting. The end is satisfying. The middle, where the novelty has worn off and the results have not arrived yet, is where most people quit. Grit is the willingness to keep showing up through that stretch, doing unglamorous work, without needing constant reassurance that it is working.

We see it most clearly in people about three months in. The initial excitement has faded, the fundamentals are still being built, and the numbers have not caught up to the effort. The team members who push through that window are almost always the ones who end up leading.

Values only count when they cost something

Anyone can claim resilience on a day when everything goes right. Values only reveal themselves when honoring them is inconvenient.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and it is what we look for when we bring people onto the team. Not people who already have all three fully formed, but people who want to build them.

Together, these three are why Daz & Company is a place where leaders get developed rather than just hired.
